Watercolor Practice

Ah, Monday. Well, today wasn’t just a Monday, it is Labor Day. Since I am currently not a laborer in any way, it’s just another day.

So, here’s a photo of a painting I did some time ago. I am currently working on a silk flower arrangement for a client, and haven’t painted anything lately. Well, I have, but I’ve not completed any paintings lately.

This piece was done about six years ago. I did a series in a similar vein, different colors or orientations, etc., so I’ll take some photos of them soon for another post. In actuality, I was just doing some experimenting with watercolor. How different applications of wet vs. less moisture affect the painting and the way the paint does its thing. I don’t think of them as “paintings” per se, but as practicing. I have taken classes in acrylic painting techniques but none in watercolor. It would seem that I need to… 😉

Hey, a girl’s gotta start somewhere, right?

Carry on.

Oh yes you are currently a laborer, ;-).

I’m really proud of you for staying with this, Barbara.
