What an amazing past two weeks! A trip to Washington D.C. and surrounding areas, while visiting my sister and her family, and the only part I’m sad about is that it’s over. Spending Thanksgiving with her, my brother-in-law, mom and my niece and niece-in-law was a wonderful gift. Meeting (and falling in love with) their four crazy/loving/happy/fun beagles was a great highlight of the trip, also. I missed my three pups while I was gone, but happily got to get a pup fix with this pack of loves.
I’m so grateful to have been able to visit our nation’s Capitol for the very first time. We were able to visit the Capitol building, quite a few historic places and Smithsonian museums and galleries, and my love of history has been given a breath of new energy.
Home. Yesterday was a long day of travel back across the country, and I’m stuck with a bit of jet lag tonight. And, best of all, my pups are home! The excitement Olivia showed when she came out to the lobby was a balm to my heart. Then, added to that, Ruby came out all full of happy, too. Gunter? He was much more sedate, as befits his 17 years of being grumpy, but he did let me pick him up and love on him a bit – without trying to bite me! 😉 My little clan is back together. The three of them are now in various dog beds and snoring away, content to be home and back with me.
I’m home. That said, I can’t wait to go back!
